[EZWrite6] Release Notes for 1.11.7 for Windows & MacOS, iPadOS 1.11.9, and 1.9.7.2 for Web

[New Features]

AI Background Remover

Users can now remove the background of an image with this function that automatically detects the subject of an image and removes it from the background.

AI Style Transfer

Users can now change an image’s art style with this function.

Reveal Tool 

Users can now add an adjustable object to the canvas to temporarily conceal content. This object can then be repositioned to reveal what’s behind it.
Note: These objects can be saved to EZWrite files.

         

Spotlight/Reveal Tool Changes (NOT available on iPadOS)

Users can now quickly switch between the Spotlight tool, which conceals content not in the active spotlight area, and the adjustable Reveal tool, which only blocks content behind the active reveal area.


Spotlight now has the ability to:

  1. Change pages.



  2. Change shape.

New Templates

Users can now select from 33 new templates.


 

3D & 2D Image Library

  1. 3D Library (NOT available on iPadOS)
    Users can now insert rotatable 3D images onto the EZWrite canvas from a built-in library. These images are categorized as follows:
    1. Math
    2. Biology
    3. Art
    4. Chemistry
    5. Physics
    6. Music
    7. Social sciences
    8. Geography


      Note: 3D images cannot be saved to EZWrite files.
  2. 2D Library
    Users can now insert 2D images onto the EZWrite canvas from a built-in library, organized into the following categories:
    1. Math
    2. Biology
    3. Art
    4. Chemistry
    5. Physics
    6. Music
    7. Social sciences
    8. Geography

3D Image Import Support (NOT available in iPadOS)

Users can now import 3D image files into EZWrite. Supported file types for the Windows version of EZWrite are:

  1. FBX
  2. OBJ

Note: Supported 3D images cannot be saved to EZWrite files.

Optical Character Recognition (available on Windows)

EZWrite Windows, Mac, and Web now feature Optical Character Recognition. Users are able to extract text from an image into an editable format.

Floating Notes (available on Windows and Mac)

EZWrite Windows and Mac now feature Optical Character Recognition. Users can now use Floating Notes to annotate on a part of the screen (Annotation of a Document Camera feed below).

Watermarks

EZWrite Windows, Mac, and Web now feature the Watermark function. Note: Watermarks cannot be saved in EZWrite files, but they can be preserved when exporting an EZWrite canvas in PDF and image formats.

[Enhancements]

  • Calculator will now display answers in decimal format and NOT exponential.

  • Compass (Tool) orientation can now be flipped along the Y-axis.

  • Timer (Tool) now supports hours (available on Windows and Mac).

Windows

This update requires manual installation. There are three ways to do this: 

  • Through the BenQ website.
  • Through the Microsoft Store unless users have enabled automatic app updates in the Microsoft Store settings.
  • Through the EZWrite 6 Windows app. To do this:
  1. Open the EZWrite 6 app.
  2. Tap .
  3. Tap→ Check for updates. The update details window appears.
  4. Click Yes.

Mac

This update requires manual installation through the BenQ website or the EZWrite 6 macOS app. To update through the app:

  1. Open the EZWrite 6 app.
  2. Click  .
  3. Click  → Check for updates. The update details window appears.
  4. Click Yes.

    Note: EZWrite 6 macOS is not available on the App Store.

    iOS

    This update requires manual installation through the App Store unless users have enabled automatic app updates in the iPadOS settings menu.
    Note: EZWrite 6 iPadOS does not support in-app OTA updates.
