Updated 2/26/25
Through DMS Policies, schools can now allow what applications can be run on their BenQ Boards.
NOTE:
- Applications that aren't whitelisted can still be installed from the Google Play Store, but they will be DISABLED and cannot be seen in the App List, Opened, or Enabled from the Play Store.
- Only ONE policy can be running on a board. Pushing another policy will overwrite and remove the changes done by a previous policy. Please modify an existing policy if you already use policies.
-
Browse to DMS and login with an Admin account, or an account with DMS pemissions.
- Navigate to the Policies section.
- If you haven't already created a Policy you want to use, then click
to Add a policy.
- If you want to add to an existing Policy, click Edit on the existing policy.
- If you haven't already created a Policy you want to use, then click
- Go to Security settings => App block / white list.
- Select White list => Next.
- Select which Apps you want to white list (BenQ Apps, My Apps [Uploaded APKs], or Apps from the Google Play Store).
- If white listing an App from the Google Play Store, select Apps from Google Play Store. Click to open up Google Play Store to search for the app that you want to block.
- Make sure to grab the URL from the Apps/Details page and not the Search page.
- Copy and paste the URL above into the item field and click Sync. If done correctly, you should see the app Parsed with a Green Checkmark. Click Confirm.
- Repeat this for other apps that you want to allow.
- Deploy the policy and confirm the policy is on the board(s) via the Device tab of the policy.
- You can also browse to the Devices section and sort by Policy.
