[New Features]

Multi-window mode


Users can now open up to six apps simultaneously on different windows on the board. Users can access the mode by tapping on the sidebar. This setting is located in SettingsAdvanced Settings and is enabled by default.

Auto detect BenQ Board settings from USB


The RE04 can now automatically detect the BenQ Board settings files stored in connected USB drives and allow the user to clone those settings to the board.

Corp mode


Administrators can enable this mode to disable the Android operating system. Users will still be able to connect their laptops to the board and use its touchscreen, soundbar, and camera for video calls and meetings. This setting is located in Settings → Device → Display → Signage mode.

BenQ volume controls


The default Android volume controls have now been replaced with the more streamlined BenQ volume controls.

[Enhancements]

  • When users launch InstaShare 2 for the first time, they will now see the dialog box for Android screen recording permission.
  • Enhanced the Bluetooth connection quality when using headsets for video calls.

[Fixed Issues]

  • Fixed an issue that prevented users from waking up the display while it is in sleep mode.
  • Fixed a Wi-Fi hotspot issue that prevented users from connecting to the Wi-Fi.
  • Fixed a startup issue that caused the system to freeze at the logo screen.
  • Fixed a startup issue that caused the system to freeze and change the color temperature of the screen.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the power button LED to turn green even if the display was powered off and in standby mode.
  • Fixed an issue that caused some app icons to disappear from the Home screen while updating Google apps.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the audio to disappear when the user switches to an external source during a video call.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented users from adjusting the system volume in the middle of a Google Meet meeting.
  • Fixed an audio playback issue affecting the Google Translate and Anton apps.
  • Fixed an AirPlay screen sharing issue affecting devices running iOS 18.
  • Fixed the BenQ EULA URL found on the device information screen.
  • Fixed a Multiple Display Administrator (MDA) command issue that prevented the system from applying the correct color temperature when the administrator is configuring the picture mode.

[Security Updates]

  • Applied the 2024-08-05 Android security patch.
  • Disabled the ICMP timestamp to prevent unauthorized timestamp requests.

[Update Instructions]

This update requires manual installation through DMS or on the BenQ Board.

Updating the firmware from DMS

⚠️ Warning

The firmware update restarts the devices automatically. Make sure to update the firmware during off hours.

  1. Go to https://dms.benq.com.
  2. Log in with your admin credentials.
  3. From the main menu, click Firmware. The list of available device models appears.
  4. Locate your BenQ Board model, and then click Update. The update summary appears.
  5. Review the update details, and then click Update.

    Tip: You can also click Schedule to schedule the update at a later time.

    Updating the firmware from the BenQ Board

    ⚠️ Warning

    • The firmware update requires a system restart. Make sure to save all important data before proceeding.
    • The update process may take a few minutes to complete. Ensure that there are no interruptions. Do not power off the device or disconnect from the internet to prevent permanent damage to the display.
    1. Open the Settings menu.
    2. Tap System → About → System update.
    3. Tap Update. The system downloads and updates the firmware and then restarts automatically.
