[RM04/RP04] How to Clone BenQ Board Settings using a USB Drive?

NOTE: USB Cloning can only be performed on matching FW versions due to Settings changes between versions.

To see what settings can be currently cloned on RP04 / RM04, please click HERE.

Locating USB Cloning Option in BenQ OSD Menu

  1. Open the BenQ OSD Menu by pressing the physical Settings button on the Board
  2. Go to Advanced Tab > USB Cloning

  3. Plug in a USB drive to your BenQ Board and select Export device settings to USB storage. This will save a Settings.json file on the USB containing the clone settings. If you are getting an "Export Failed" message, check that you have an EMPTY "benq" folder on your USB drive. It will fail if you don't have an empty "benq" folder.

If you need to load a WPA2-E Certificate
    1. Make sure your version is newer than 10.0.1.74 on RM04 OR 20240624XXX on RP04 for this feature.
    2. The Wi-Fi certificate file should be named “cloneWiFiCa.pem” (case sensitive) and placed in the “benq" folder on the USB drive.
    3. NOTE: Prior to importing the WPA2-Enterprise and Wi-Fi certificate files, please ensure that both “Settings.json” and “cloneWiFiCa.pem” are located in the “benq” folder on the USB drive.

  4. Plug in the USB drive to the "clone" board and a message will appear asking if you want to import the clone settings. After users tap OK, the board will reboot. If the Import settings message appears after rebooting, tap Cancel.

  5. Verify that your settings have been loaded correctly. If you loaded a WPA2-E Certificate, verify the imported certificate under Settings → → Security → More security settings → Encryption & credentials → User credentials.

Note: Users can only import one CA certificate at a time to the board.
