      [RP04] Release Notes for Firmware v20250924

      Released 10/13/25 - 10/10/25

      There is a known issue in this firmware (please see section below regarding reported issue and workaround). Will be resolved in next firmware.


      [New Features]

      3rd party security certificates

      Preinstalled 3rd party security certificates: ContentKeeper, Securely, and iBoss.

        Added support for Phottix PC10 and Rapoo C260 cameras.


        [Enhancements]

        • InstaShare Button app is now preloaded and updated automatically with OTA updates.
        • Passwords entered on the board are now hidden by default.
        • Significantly faster boot-up times for boards in InstaShare Button mode.
        • Optimized Traditional and Simplified Chinese translations for the OSD.
        • EDID Label Update
          • The EDID labels have been temporarily modified as follows:
            • 2.0 (YUV420) → Standard1
            • 1.4 → Standard2
            • 2.0 → Enhanced

        [Known Issue]

        There is currently a known issue with this Firmware in which the Split Screen buttons within the Multi Window Feature cannot be clicked/used. For now please drag you window to snap to a screen Half.

        [Fixed Issues]

        • Fixed an issue that prevented the display from appearing online on the X-Sign Broadcast management page.
        • Fixed an issue that prevented the preview for an input source from appearing in Sidebar → Recent → Recent Source.
        • Fixed an issue where the boot logo appeared when Disable boot logo was enabled.
        • Fixed an issue where the Weather widget displayed an incorrect PM10 value.
        • Fixed an issue where the display incorrectly appeared to be in Safe Mode during the setup wizard (OOBE).
        • Fixed an issue where Pixel Shift was missing in OSD Setting → Display → Advanced.
        • Fixed an issue that prevented the system runtime from displaying correctly.
        • Resolved an issue where the Freeze function interrupted screen sharing in Google Meet.
        • Fixed an issue that prevented the Freeze function from working correctly when logging in as an AMS user.
        • Fixed an issue that caused the OSD menu to disappear when tapping the Audio tab.
        • Fixed an issue that prevented the Screenshot function from working correctly in InstaShare 2 when casting from board to device.
        • Fixed an issue that prevented 4K wallpapers from being displayed correctly.

        [Update Instructions]

        This update requires manual installation through DMS or on the BenQ Board.

        Updating the firmware from DMS

        ⚠️ Warning

        The firmware update restarts the devices automatically. Make sure to update the firmware during off hours.

        1. Go to https://dms.benq.com.
        2. Log in with your admin credentials.
        3. From the main menu, click Firmware. The list of available device models appears.
        4. Locate your BenQ Board model, and then click Update. The update summary appears.
        5. Review the update details, and then click Update.

          Tip: You can also click Schedule to schedule the update at a later time.

          Updating the firmware from the BenQ Board

          ⚠️ Warning

            • The firmware update requires a system restart. Make sure to save all important data before proceeding.
            • The update process may take a few minutes to complete. Ensure that there are no interruptions. Do not power off the device or disconnect from the internet to prevent permanent damage to the display.
          1. Open the Settings menu.
          2. Tap Advanced → System update.
          3. Tap Update system.

          The system downloads and updates the firmware and then restarts automatically.
