      [SL04] Release Notes for FW v1.0.0.31

      For models:

      SL4304, SL5504, SL6504, SL7504, SL8604

      [Enhancements]

      • Optimized the picture quality for the SL8604.
      • Optimized the backlight brightness for Custom 1 and Custom 2 picture modes.
      • The default volume level value in the SL04 Signage Settings menu is now set to 25. 
      • The default setting for Show apps in landscape in the SL04 Signage Settings menu is now set to Off.
      • Optimized the picture mode parameters for Android OS on the display and external input sources.
      • Optimized Signage Settings menu strings.

      [Fixed Issues]

      • Fixed an issue that caused Google Play filters to function incorrectly.
      • Fixed an issue that caused the screen to display incorrect color temperature after the device was rebooted when shutdown mode = 1 minute and the input source = standard mode.
      • Fixed an issue that caused the screen to display incorrect color temperature after a factory reset.

      This update requires manual installation through DMS or on the SL04 display.

      Updating the firmware from DMS

      ⚠️ Warning

      The firmware update restarts the device automatically. Make sure to update the firmware during off hours.

      1. Go to https://dms.benq.com.
      2. Log in with your admin credentials.
      3. From the main menu, click Firmware. The list of available devices appears.
      4. Locate your BenQ signage display, and then click Update. The update summary appears.
      5. Review the update details, and then click Update.
        Tip: You can also click Schedule to schedule the update for a later time.

      Updating the firmware from the SL04 display

      ⚠️ Warning

      • The firmware update requires a system restart. Make sure to save all important data before proceeding.
      • The update process may take a few minutes to complete. Ensure that there are no interruptions. Do not power off the device or disconnect from the internet to prevent permanent damage to the display.
      1. Open the Signage Settings menu.
      2. Select Advanced → System update.
      3. Select Update system. The system downloads and updates the firmware and then restarts automatically.
