      [SL04] Release Notes for FW v1.0.0.56

      [New Features]

      Portrait orientation

      Users can now set the display to portrait mode in the digital signage display settings under Advanced → Display orientation.

      Cinema mode

      Users can now select Cinema mode in the digital signage display settings under Display → Picture mode.

      Cinema HDR mode

      Users can now plug an input source with an HDR signal into the display and it will automatically switch to Cinema HDR picture mode.

      Remote control scroll mode

      Users can now scroll up, down, left, and right in a web browser by pressing the red preset button on the remote control after enabling remote control scroll mode.

      Note: The browser’s URL bar will be hidden when using remote control scroll mode.

      [Enhancements]

      • Updated the security patch to January 2025.
      • Enhanced picture performance in the High-detail mode picture mode for the SH6504 model.

      [Fixed Issues]

      • Fixed an issue that caused the picture mode to reset back to Standard when users changed the picture mode to Custom and adjusted the color temperature to Warm.
      • Fixed an issue that caused the default picture mode to be set to Pantone instead of Standard.
      • Fixed an issue that caused the display’s color temperature to change to Warm when playing videos after performing a factory reset.
      • Fixed an issue that caused the display’s Wi-Fi to be disabled after deploying an automation to the display from DMS.
      • Fixed an issue that caused the picture mode to reset when users selected Custom2 for an external input source and switched input sources.
      • Fixed an issue that caused flickering while playing YouTube videos in portrait orientation mode.
      • Fixed an issue that caused the picture mode to change to Custom2 instead of Standard when switching to the HDMI channel for the first time.
      • Fixed an issue that caused the picture mode to change to M-book mode when switching to an Android input source.

      [Update Instructions]

      This update requires manual installation through DMS or on the SL04 display.

      Updating the firmware from DMS

      ⚠️ Warning

      The firmware update restarts the device automatically. Make sure to update the firmware during off hours.

      1. Go to https://dms.benq.com.
      2. Log in with your admin credentials.
      3. From the main menu, click Firmware. The list of available devices appears.
      4. Locate your BenQ signage display, and then click Update. The update summary appears.
      5. Review the update details, and then click Update.
        Tip: You can also click Schedule to schedule the update for a later time.

      Updating the firmware from the SL04 display

      ⚠️ Warning

      • The firmware update requires a system restart. Make sure to save all important data before proceeding.
      • The update process may take a few minutes to complete. Ensure that there are no interruptions. Do not power off the device or disconnect from the internet to prevent permanent damage to the display.
      1. Open the Signage Settings menu.
      2. Select Advanced → System update.
      3. Select Update system. The system downloads and updates the firmware and then restarts automatically.
