Procedure to Update QOTA to 2.3.0.22 (RP04 older than v20240129 / RM04 older than 1.0.2.26)

If the FW for your - RP04 is older than v20240129 - RM04 is older than 1.0.2.26 you must update the QOTA on your board to version 2.3.0.22 FIRST.

Summary

To prevent firmware update issues, update the QOTA app to version 2.3.0.22 before installing the latest RP04 firmware.

Important

● If the RP04 firmware update is launched before QOTA is updated to version 2.3.0.22, the update process may fail. In case of major issues, perform a factory reset.

For boards that are bound to DMS

1. Ensure that the boards are powered on and connected to the internet. DMS automatically updates QOTA to version 2.3.0.22 upon reboot.

2. Confirm the QOTA version.

a. Log in to https://dms.benq.com.

b. On the left menu, click Apps.

c. Under BenQ Apps, find QOTA, and then confirm that the version is 2.3.0.22 or later.

d. Click View devices, and then confirm if all affected boards are listed.

3. Restart the boards.

a. On the left menu, click Devices.

b. Select the boards to be updated.

c. On the right menu, click Reboot.

4. Update the firmware from DMS

a. On the left menu, click Devices.

b. Select the boards to be updated.

c. On the right menu, click Check update, and then click Confirm.

d. The board will begin updating the FW.

For boards that are not bound to DMS

1. Ensure that the boards are connected to the internet.

2. Update QOTA.

a. On the board, tap on the taskbar .

b. Tap BenQ App Store.

c. Tap .

d. Tap QOTA.

e. Tap Update.

The system automatically installs the latest version.

3. Restart the board.

[RM04]

Summary

To prevent firmware update issues, complete the following procedures before installing the listed RM04 firmware:

1. Update the QOTA app to version 2.3.0.22.

2. If the board is using an Ethernet connection, install the Ethernet tool (OTA) app.

Important

● If the RM04 firmware update is launched before QOTA is updated to version 2.3.0.22, the update process may fail. In case of major issues, perform a factory reset.

● If the RM04 firmware is updated before Ethernet tool (OTA) is installed, Ethernet will have to be re-enabled on the board after the update.

For boards that are bound to DMS

1. Ensure that the boards are powered on and connected to the internet. DMS automatically updates QOTA to version 2.3.0.22 or later after a reboot.

2. Confirm the QOTA version.

a. Log in to https://dms.benq.com.

b. On the left menu, click Apps.

c. Under BenQ Apps, find QOTA, and then confirm that the version is 2.3.0.22 or later.

d. Click View devices, and then confirm if all affected boards are listed.

3. If the boards are using an Ethernet connection, install Ethernet tool (OTA).

a. Under BenQ Apps, find Ethernet tool (OTA), and then click Install.

b. Select a deployment target, and then click Next.

c. Select the devices, groups, or tags, and then click Select.

d. Click Confirm.

4. Restart the boards.

a. On the left menu, click Devices.

b. Select the boards to be updated.

c. On the right menu, click Reboot.

5. Update the firmware from DMS.

a. On the left menu, click Devices.

b. Select the boards to be updated.

c. On the right menu, click Check update, and then click Confirm.

d. The board will updating the FW.

For boards that are not bound to DMS

1. Ensure that the boards are connected to the internet.

2. Update QOTA.

a. On the board, tap on the taskbar .

b. Tap BenQ App Store.

c. Tap .

d. Tap QOTA.

e. Tap Update.

The system automatically installs the latest version.

3. Update QOTA.

a. On the board, tap on the taskbar .

b. Tap BenQ App Store.

c. Tap .

d. Tap Ethernet tool (OTA).

   

e. Tap Update.

The system automatically installs the latest version.

4. Restart the board.

5. Go to OSD Settings > Advanced > System update

6. Tap Update System > Download

7. When the download is completed, then tap Start Update
