      [DMS] BenQ DMS 3.3 Release Notes

      [New Features]

      White List (under Policies > Security Settings)

      Admins are now able to create an allow list of Applications that are able to run on the board. Applications can still be installed, however they will be disabled and cannot be found in the App List or Enabled from the Google Play Store.

      Additional Launcher Settings (under Policies)

      NOTE: ALL OF THE SETTINGS BELOW (except for AUTHENTICATION MODE) WILL BE CHANGED AFTER AN OTA UPDATE, NOT WHEN YOU MAKE THE CHANGE IN DMS. MEANING IF YOU CHANGE THE LOCAL ADMIN PASSWORD, IT WILL CHANGE AFTER THE BENQ BOARD GOES THROUGH THE NEXT FW UPDATE.

      1. Remotely Control AMS Settings
        You can now control AMS Board Settings remotely from DMS through policies.





        1. Enable/Disable AMS Service
          - Remotely toggle AMS Service.
        2. Change Local Admin Password
          - Remote change the Local Admin Password on your BenQ Board(s).









        3. Access Security
          1. Authentication mode
            - Disable all features of the board unless user logs in and removes Guest from Main Screen [Login Screen].
          2. Disable Guest Mode (EDLA only)
            - Remove Guest from the Main Screen.
          3. Screen Lock (EDLA only)
            - Allow users to set Screen Locks on their AMS Profiles (local to the board).
      2. Wallpaper Settings
        Wallpaper settings have been removed from AMS (Equipment Management) and are now set through DMS Policies.


        1. Main Screen (Login Wallpaper)
        2. Users' default home screen (Set Default Background for all Users)
          1. Toggle to override Users set backgrounds.

      Power Save Mode (under Policies > Display)

      Admins can now set the Power save mode on their BenQ Boards remotely through DMS.

      Android Version added

      Android version is now listed under Devices > Detailed Information > About

      Event Log Tab

      Event Log tab has been added to the navigation menu.

      Instashare 2 random connection password

      Through DMS Policies you can now set your connection password for Instashare 2 to Random instead of a Fixed password.

      New Device filter for Authentication Mode

      You can now filter your devices view by Auth Mode.

      [Enhancements]

      • Device list navigation has been changed from infinite scrolling to pagination. 

      • Equipment management features have been moved from AMS to DMS. 

      • Added ascending and descending sort options for lists. 

      • Optimized QOTA performance. 

      [Fixed Issues]

      • The PDF downloaded from the analytics dashboard will now display "No data" when no information is available. 

      [Update Instructions] 

      • This update requires installation through DMS or on the BenQ Board. 
      1. Update DMS Client. 

      Method 1: Using DMS 

        1. Go to https://dms.benq.com. 
        2. Log in with your admin credentials. 
        3. From the main menu, click Apps → BenQ Apps. The list of available apps appears. 
        4. Locate DMS Client, then click Install. The app installation menu appears. 
        5. Select the target devices (by devices, groups, or tags) and click Next. 
        6. Select the specific devices, groups, or tags, and then click Select. A confirmation message appears. 
        7. Review the information and click Confirm. 

        OR 

        Method 2: From the BenQ Board

          1. On the home screen taskbar, tap → BenQ App Store.
          2. Tap → DMS Client.
          3. The app details window appears. 
          4. Tap Update.
            Tip: If there are other available app updates, you can install them all by tapping then  Update All. 
        2. Update the DMS app on your mobile device (Optional: only required when managing from a mobile device)
          1. Launch the App Store or Google Play on your mobile device. 
          2. Install or update the BenQ DMS Tool.
        3. Update the InstaShare 2 app (Optional: only required if using InstaShare 2 Set Random Password feature)

          Method 1: Using DMS

            1. Go to https://dms.benq.com. 
            2. Log in with your admin credentials.
            3. From the main menu, click Apps → BenQ Apps. The list of available apps appears. 
            4. Locate InstaShare 2 (03 series or before) or InstaShare 2 EDLA (04 series or later), and then click Install. The app installation menu appears. 
            5. Select the target devices (by devices, groups, or tags) and click Next. 
            6. Select the specific devices, groups, or tags, and then click Select. A confirmation message appears. 
            7. Review the information and click Confirm.

            Method 2: From the BenQ Board 

              1. On the home screen taskbar, tap → BenQ App Store. 
              2. Tap → InstaShare 2 (03 series or before) or InstaShare 2 EDLA (04 series or later). The app details window appears.
